Local Santa Cruz mountain vintners make all
the wines we offer. The Santa Cruz mountains have become
recognized as a unique grape growing region, and were one of the first
American viticultural areas to be defined by geophysical and climatic
factors. The individual microclimates, marine influence, mountain terrain,
distinctive soils, and low crop levels, all contribute to the production of
intensely concentrated fruit. The small size of the family-owned wineries
also allows these artists the opportunity to handcraft their individual
wines and maximize the potential of their grapes.
The exclusive wines we have available include
those from Pelican Ranch Winery, Silver Mountain Vineyards, Santa Cruz
Mountain Vineyard, D'Elissagaray, Glenwood Oaks Winery, Roudon-Smith
Winery, and Botavina Winery, with more to come. The smaller wineries
usually do not have tasting rooms of their own, or have small ones only
open occasionally, so here the wines may be sampled and enjoyed anytime.
These innovative vintners also drop in about once a month and pour their
wines for anyone who would like to meet and parley with them. It is a lot
of fun, as well as very interesting and educational.
